Amrita Rao – The Bollywood Actress

The stupendous success of Cadbury's Perk Chocolates ad became the launching pad for Amrita Rao’s movie career. After Raj Kanwar, the director of "Ab Ke Baras" saw the Cadbury ad; he immediately got in touch with Amrita Rao and signed her in "Ab Ke Baras" opposite Arya Babbar, the son of renowned actor Raj Babbar in 2002. But her acting abilities came to the fore in the movie "Ishq Vishk", in which she portrayed the role of Payal, the girl-next door. Her role in "Ishq Vishk" won her several awards including Filmfare award, IIFA Award, Stardust Award and Sansui Award for best female debut artist.

Amrita Rao till date has acted in several Bollywood films like "Deewar" opposite Amitabh Bachchan, "Main Hoon Na" opposite Shahrukh Khan, "Shikhar" opposite Ajay Devgan and her critically acclaimed movie, "Vivah" directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya for which she won several awards. Amrita Rao also acted in a Telugu movie, "Athidhi" opposite Mahesh Babu in 2007.
